DESCRIPTION: Natural olive wood utensils, cutting boards, and charcuterie boards made by family business partnership between the United States and Tunisia. Handcrafted in Tunisia, shipped from the United States. These naturally beautiful kitchen products all boast the distinct swirling patterns of the trees’ twisted trunks. Nonporous by nature and coated in a protective layer of olive oil, these boards are sustainable and safe. All are one piece of solid wood unless noted in item name (larger paddle boards are glued.)
CARE: Hand wash only, not suitable for dishwashers. Occasionally coat with olive oil to prevent the wood from drying out.. de-fractionated coconut oil also a great option – and we sell it! Do not leave soaking in water or exposed to heat or sunshine.
IMPACT: Using natural products around food helps to reduce exposure to toxic ingredients and wasteful, disposal cookware. Disposing of your plastic cutting boards is nearly a necessity for your health. There is a misconception that wood cutting boards are an unhealthy option – but just the opposite! Wood is naturally antimicrobial meaning any bacteria that is left over will get pulled into the wood and die.
DISPOSAL: Compostable, but will take some time due to thickness. Can be burned in fireplace.
