Description
Stainless steel two part ice cube tray (18/8 ). Feel like you're in the 1950's with this retro design tray, and all plastic free. Note due to difficulty keeping these in stock we source two almost identical brands: Onyx and RSVP. Both are 18/8 stainless and same size: 11.2" x 4.8" x 2". You can also add on these stacking rack which can hold 1, 2 or 3 regular trays. The rack s 5.6"H x 5.6"W x 10.7L and is 6.8" with a third rack on the top. When we run low we add a preorder section. The Large cube tray makes 6 XL cubes and is overall a bit smaller than the main tray, but the larger ice keeps drinks colder longer. It is also 18/8 stainless. Dimensions are 7.5" x 5.1" x 3". Not recommended to use with rack.
DIRECTIONS: Fill, freeze, let sit on counter 1-2 minutes before lifting the lever to pop out your ice cubes. Never force the lever, which is why it should sit for 1-2 minutes. Tip, Allow to sit out for a minute or two before opening or run upside-down under cold water to loosen ice. Pull handle slowly and do not force.
DISPOSAL: extremely durable, but can be recycled with other metal recycling.
IMPACT: Using stainless steel ice cube trays as opposed to plastic is a much safer option for body and planet!

Quick info on stainless, to the best of our research:
430 or 18/0 is 18% chromium; no nickel 304 or 18/10 or 18/8 is 18% chromium and 10% and 8% nickel, respectively, 200 series is stronger and less corrosive and better value but can rust or discolor more easily so wash and dry before after use. These have 3.5-5.5% nickel; 16-18% chrome and 5.5-7.5 manganese.

I’m delighted with this perfect ice tray! The release lever makes it a breeze to use. Follow the instructions to let the frozen tray sit out for a couple of minutes first for an easy release 🙂

It was hard to find a big cube tray that isn’t made of silicone rubber, which picks up odors. This one works great. Would like to see one that makes even bigger cubes – 2”x 2”.

AMAZING! I thought the ice tray would be difficult to get ice out of, since it was metal… but it was literally easier than any other ice tray I have ever used. Excited to not need plastic ice trays anymore, where it’s hard to get cubes out, and you make a mess trying to fill each compartment. With this, you just take off the divider, fill the base tray spill-free, and after it’s frozen, lift the handle and BOOM – perfection!

I have been slowly switching out plastic items for glass and stainless steel. I saw this item on social media, did a deep dive, and found super mixed reviews of metal ice cube trays. Im SO happy to say that we are in the LOVE IT club! It freezes quickly and is not hard at all to use (just make sure to have dry hands and let it sit out for a minute or two). Highly recommend!
